"The Farm"

Click the links below to see more of the the farm. Lots more coming soon.

My husband and I live in a 300 year old farm house that is owned by my in-laws. They live here half the year. Our current bedroom use to be the barn that was attached to the house. Kinda fitting since I love animals. :) Besides rabbits we have a flock of chickens and a tank of tropical fish.

I have a greenhouse and raise veggies and flowers that I sell beside the road and plant in my garden. I have a large garden and plan to expand it even larger this summer. I've always loved gardening my whole life and have a lot of "Tricks of the trade" that I use.

We did start a Holstein Bull Calf this spring and sold him. Before that I've had goat kids, and before I got married I raised ducks, geese and many other animals.

This is a page in progress and I will be adding pictures and more information about all my other "Farm" activities. My husband and I both work full time elsewhere so this isnt really a farm. Just a lot of rabbits, some chickens and a love of gardening. I also plan on starting a really good compost pile this summer. We have one now but it's not big enough to handle all the rabbit and chicken manure as of yet. :)

My husband is really good at creating new things and just recently made a solar heat collector. On sunny days it pushes out 115 degree air. On cloudy days sticks to 70 ish. Good first project.

So this is kind of a page on my hobbies and my somewhat self-reliant desire to be able to provide my own food and heat. Of course I've always grown up with a wood stove so use to that part. :) Oh the joys of chopping down trees in late summer.
